On the other side of the museum from the Rocky Steps, you'll find a phenomenal fountain. 

Haida Gwaii has become one of my all time favorite places.  The history of the Haida people is so rich, so dynamic.  I feel so lucky to have friends on the islands now who have taught me so much about the importance of our link to the environment and what living your culture really means. 

Who needs those hot afternoons at the beach?  Give me a sunrise, sunset and dusk and let the drama unfold.

The morning sun cuts through the rugged north coast of Kuaui. Gorgeous. 

The first run of the National Geographic Quest, a newly-built ship for Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic. After so much time in the planning phases, it was exciting to get out on the water and photograph her at sea. 

There is nothing like the thrill of being on the deck of a small boat when humpbacks surface.
